Non-Surgical Periodontal Treatment
Gum Disease & Periodontal Treatment
Recent studies have shown that more than 75% of Americans are struggling with varying stages of gum disease. Unfortunately, many people feel that early symptoms are harmless or barely noticeable. However, if left untreated, worsening and advanced gum disease can lead to very serious problems.
Periodontal or gum disease is commonly caused by bacteria from dental plaque that has built up and hardened over time due to poor brushing and flossing; this leads to sore, swollen, and bleeding gums. If left untreated, advanced periodontal disease can also cause painful chewing, receding gums and even loss of teeth.
At Pure Health Dental, you will receive a periodontal evaluation where the hygienists assess all your teeth and gums for any indications of periodontal disease. If needed, we will develop a custom treatment plan to restore your gums for a healthy smile. This may include a non-surgical periodontal treatment with localized antibiotics.
Ultimately, treatment focuses on controlling the infection by maintenance. The good news is our treatment plans can help reverse the effects and help return your gums to a healthy state. You can help maintain healthy gums by brushing and flossing twice a day using a toothpaste that contains fluoride.
What are Dental Implants?
Dental implants are the closest you can get to natural teeth. They can give off a fantastic, authentic smile and allow you to laugh, smile and simply enjoy life without the insecurities that surround a less than perfect smile. Implants have improved numerous smiles over the past thirty years, and the trend is likely to continue.
A dental implant is a surgical procedure in which a replacement tooth root is placed and fused with the jawbone. Although it sounds invasive, it is a safe procedure and is arguably the best option for replacing a large quantity of missing teeth. Dental implants provide the look and feel of natural teeth and can last for years, if not decades, without needing to be repaired or replaced.
At Pure Health Dental, you are our priority. Implants offer an excellent alternative especially for those who have experienced discomfort from sore areas, poor ridges, or gagging with their dentures. We offer FREE dental implant consultations where we can discuss with you the benefits and options available.
Dental Bone Grafting
A dental bone graft is most commonly used at the site of an extraction. It is also used when a patient wants to get dental implants but whose jawbone has deteriorated and cannot provide proper or adequate support for the implants.
Dental bone grafting is typically a minor in-office surgical procedure; a small incision is made in the gum to expose the bone below it and grafting material is added. The grafting material serves as a platform, allowing the body to grow new bone cells. Over time, the grafted area will be replaced by the patient’s new bone. Once the built-up jawbone can properly support implants the patient can move forward with getting their implants. Call Pure Health Dental to learn more.
Dental Crowns and Bridges
A dental crown is a custom-made cap that is placed over a broken- or worn-down tooth in order to restore the tooth’s function and aesthetic appeal. Not only does a damaged tooth create problems to function and health, but a great smile is only as good as the weakest tooth. A crown, which is stain-resistant and durable, results in an improved, beautiful smile.
A dental bridge is a fixed appliance used to bridge the gap left by a lost tooth or multiple missing teeth. A dental bridge is important in order to maintain facial structure and symmetry, to keep teeth from moving, and to restore lost function.
A partial denture consists of replacement teeth, on either metal or plastic framework. It is designed to replace a small section of missing teeth as well as look and function like a normal set of teeth. Partials are a great way to replace a single tooth or a small group of teeth in a cost-efficient manner.
Unlike a partial denture, where only a section of missing teeth is replaced, a full denture is used to replace most if not all teeth. A full denture is aesthetic, functional and typically less expensive than many other teeth replacement options.
At Pure Health Dental we offer denture sets that are comfortable, affordable, and allow you to love your smile again. Give us a call today and we will be happy to discuss the entire denture procedure.
As a minimally invasive, affordable, and natural looking option, veneers are quite a popular choice for anyone displeased with their smile. There are several benefits as well; they are long-lasting, durable, difficult to stain, and very aesthetically pleasing. They are typically made of porcelain material and composite resin; which can last you years depending on how well they are maintained. Veneers are an excellent option for perfecting the look of your smile as they repair and cover any existing problems such as misaligned, chipped, gapped, discolored, or stained teeth. At Pure Health Dental, we will custom create yours and attach them to your teeth over a series of appointments.

Wisdom Teeth Removal & Teeth Extractions
At Pure Health Dental, in-house oral surgeons perform several procedures including bone grafting, implants, and more. The most common are teeth extractions including wisdom teeth removals with oral sedation.
The third molars, or wisdom teeth, form later in life for most people. This requires the removal of their wisdom teeth during their late teens to their early twenties. Wisdom teeth often cause several problems including pain, infection, impaction, and misalignment which leads to extractions.
We can frequently prevent many of the troublesome issues caused by wisdom teeth by removing them before they interfere with the surrounding teeth or become infected.
During your regular exams, cleanings, and x-rays, we will monitor the growth and progression of your wisdom teeth to see if their removal is necessary. Sometimes they come in quickly and unexpectedly, but often we can see their change in direction and recommend their extraction before they cause any pain.
Pure Health Dental recommends you schedule your child’s first visit by their second birthday; however, we will see children once their first tooth appears.
At your child’s first visit, we introduce them to the dental chair and our cleaning tools. We have found that an introductory visit where we explain the process and make them feel comfortable leads to a more positive experience and participation in future visits.
Our pediatric dentistry team focuses on providing education to instill good oral hygiene habits early on. The sooner children learn proper brushing and flossing techniques, the better their oral hygiene will be.
Throughout the years as your child grows, we will continually monitor their development. Keeping a close eye allows us to help with any corrective treatments at the earlier stages, preserving their smile, confidence, and well-being. In addition to our routine checkups, exams, and cleanings, we offer preventative treatment for children such as sealants and fluoride treatments to keep teeth healthy and strong.
